GYM 101: A Quick Word on Etiquette
Whether you're brand new to the gym or a seasoned lifter, there are a few basics we all need to follow to keep SUB10 running smoothly. Respect the space. Respect others. Respect yourself. We’re all here to train hard and feel good — let’s make it a place everyone wants to be.
Wipe It Down
Always clean your equipment after use — sweat belongs to no one else! After using any machine, bench or mat, give it a quick wipe down. We’ve got cleaning wipes and rubbish bins placed around the gym to make it easy — there’s no excuse for leaving it grubby.
Re-Rack Your Weights
Done with the dumbbells, plates or barbells? We ask that you don’t leave dumbbells or plates lying around. Please put them back where they belong. It keeps the space safe and saves the next person hunting around.
Share the Gear
Peak time? Be mindful. Don’t camp out on one machine or piece of kit. If you’re supersetting or taking breaks between sets, offer to let someone work in with you.
Phone Off, Focus On
We get it — life’s busy, but the gym bench isn’t your office. When you’re in the gym, be here. Benches and machines are for training, not texting or scrolling. Keep the focus on your workout.
Dress Right
Wear proper gym shoes and comfy, move-friendly clothing. Jandals, work boots or denim? Not ideal. You’ll feel better — and safer — in the right gear.
Smell Good
This one’s easy. We all sweat, but let’s keep it fresh. A bit of deodorant goes a long way in making the gym a nicer place for everyone.
