The fine print.
Quick Summary
After your minimum term finishes: Your membership automatically rolls over to an open term plan at the same price you were paying and the same pay frequency (weekly, fortnightly, monthly). You do not start another fixed term.
Cancellation: Give at least 14 calendar days’ written notice by email to gym@sub10.nz or through the SUB10 App.
Early cancellation fee: During a minimum term: the lower of 25% of remaining membership payments or $250, unless an exception below applies.

Before you join
These Terms form part of your Membership Agreement with SUB10 Training and Recovery Ltd (SUB10, we, us or our). Your Membership Agreement contains the details specific to you.
1. I've just signed up. What does my SUB10 membership include?
Welcome! Access to SUB10's Wellness Centre and the use of the services that is included in your membership. Plus all the other bits and pieces like our great staff, bathrooms, body scanner just to name a few.
What happens when my minimum term is up?
If your agreement has a 4 week or 12 month minimum term, your membership automatically rolls over to an open term plan at the same price you were paying and the same pay frequency (weekly, fortnightly, monthly). You do not start another fixed term. No early cancellation fees apply once the minimum term ends.
No minimum term?
If no minimum term is shown, your membership is open term from the start.
Lucky enough to snap up one of the Foundation memberships?
The benefits continue only while that membership remains active. Once it is cancelled and you wish to rejoin, you will need to select one of our current memberships that we offer.
2. How old do I have to be to join SUB10?
You must be at 14 years of age. Anyone under 18 must join in person with a parent or legal guardian who completes the required consent and payment documents.
Members under 16 may use the Facility only during staffed hours unless management approves otherwise.
Members under 18 must not be in the Facility between 10:30 pm and 5:00 am.
The Recovery Rooms is for members aged 18 or over unless SUB10 expressly approves otherwise.
We will ask for reasonable proof of age, student status or other eligibility.
I signed up online - how do I get access to SUB10 if it's unstaffed?
Members can access SUB10 Facilities using their issued key fob or Bluetooth access token. Scan in on every entry. Please don't lend or share it to anyone else. Unauthorised entry we may charge a guest fee or terminate for a serious or repeated breaches.
3. Fees and payments
Pay the fees and charges in your Membership Agreement. Ezypay processes recurring payments under its payment terms. Keep your payment and contact details current.
A declined payment may incur a $3 dishonour fee. Joining, administration, suspension, guest, no show, late cancellation and optional service fees apply only when stated in your agreement or disclosed before you incur them.
What happens if I miss a payment?
We get it, life happens. If a payment fails, it still remains owing. But if they keep on failing and after three failed attempts, we will email a final notice showing the full amount due. If it is not paid within seven days after that notice, we may cancel the membership, deactivate access and refer the debt to a collection agency. Please reach out before this happens.
Will SUB1o increase my membership fee's?
Generally no, but if we do change the fee we will give at least 30 days written notice. .
4. Cooling off, holds and cancellations
You may cancel within five calendar days after accepting your Membership Agreement by giving written notice. Send an email to gym@sub10.nz.
I need to place my membership on hold. How do I do this?
You may request a hold of up to three months for travel, medical or exceptional personal reasons. Submit a request through the SUB10 App or flick us a quick email at gym@sub1o.nz.
Hey SUB10 - I want to cancel my membership
So you have made the decision to part ways with us. No worries, you are always welcome back. Just flick us an email at gym@sub10.nz or submit a cancellation request through the SUB10 App. We require at least 14 calendar days written notice. You may continue using your included services up until your end date.
I want to cancel my membership but my 12 months is not up. What happens?
If cancellation takes effect during your minimum term, the early cancellation fee is the lower of:
25% of the membership payments remaining from the cancellation date to the end of the minimum term; or
$250.
5. SUB10 App
Yep, we have our very own SUB10 App that uses GymMaster technology. You can use it for digital access, view class timetables, make bookings, view your account details, view documents, make or update payments and make cancellation requests.
6. Facility rules Health, safety and equipment
Decide whether you are fit to participate at our facility. SUB10 does not provide medical diagnosis. Seek professional advice from a Medical Practitioner or GP if you have health concerns and please stop any exercise if you feel pain or dizziness. If you can and a staff member is around go to the front counter and speak to them. If you require urgent help call 111 and ask for the ambulance service.
The Group Fitness Room is also a shared as a Functional Room. You may use it when it is not reserved for a class or organised activity shown in the SUB10 App calendar or by notice. SUB10 classes require minimum numbers before the classes will go ahead.
If you see anything that looks damaged or not right, please let staff know or flick the team an email. Drinks spill and the odd item breaks. There are plenty of towels or mops and SUB10 is more than happy to help sort this out or point you in the right direction. SUB10 minimise's risks as much as possible and we ask members to do the same and to report anything that could potential be a danger to others so it can be rectified. .
Children’s area
The designated children’s area is an unsupervised amenity, not a crèche. It is for age appropriate children. A parent or guardian must stay nearby to supervise their child. SUB10 will not look after your child! Yes that area is gated and safe, but they need your eyes on them at all times please.
Behaviour
We have built a strong community of good members. Please treat everyone how you want to be treated with respect and dignity. Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, sexually inappropriate, dangerous or seriously disruptive behaviour is not tolerated. Drugs including steroids and paraphernalia, gang patches or insignia are prohibited; this does not include lawful cultural tattoos, dress or expression.
We may refuse entry, require someone to leave and contact the Police.
Photography, CCTV and Wi-Fi
SUB10 will give reasonable notice of promotional filming where practicable and obtain consent before using an identifiable member's image for marketing, unless they are only incidental in a lawful wide angle image. Please be mindful using your own phone or camera to film yourself or otherwise and be aware of others around you and who might also be captured in your imagery.
CCTV operates throughout the facility and accessed for monitoring for safety, security and access control. Cameras are not used in private areas. Our Privacy Policy explains CCTV retention and how footage and other information are handled.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided as available. Do not use it to unlawfully access our systems or compromise security. We may restrict Wi-Fi to protect users and systems.
7. Property, privacy and responsibility
SUB10 is not responsible for any members loss, theft or damage it did not cause and could not reasonably have prevented.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we use it, who may receive it, overseas processing, CCTV retention, marketing choices, security, and access or correction rights. Send privacy requests to gym@sub10.nz.
8. Notices, complaints and legal details
Keep your email, phone, address, emergency contact and payment details current. We will send notices to your latest details. An email is treated as received on the next working day unless the sender receives a delivery-failure message.
Send complaints to gym@sub10.nz. We will acknowledge them and try to resolve them fairly within a reasonable time.
